V. Lytvyn, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met J.Buzek, European Parliament President

 

The politicians discussed the political situation in Ukraine after the presidential elections. According to V. Lytvyn, all the branches of power are obliged to make everything possible "to unite the country in the process of work." "One is supposed to appreciate that it si extremely necessary to consolidate the state, denying controversial issues being used for the receiving of the political goals in the course of the presidential campaign, instead, one should first of all consider those tasks that unite the society", - the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament declared.

 

The European Parliament President expressed solidarity concerning this point of view and emphasized: "The most important item of the Ukrainian agenda is the stability of the state." According to Mr. Buzek, the role of the Ukrainian Parliament and its Chairmanship is hard to be overestimated concerning this task. "Your responsibility consists of the constructive dialogue, preserving of the democratic process of the discussion and adoption of the necessary decisions in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine", - the Chairman of the European Parliament stated.

 

In the course of the issues discussion regarding the further development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and EU, the Parties reached an agreement that the total transparence of the both Parties in this process will facilitate the process. "Ukraine faced a moment when certain preferences are to be given concerning the relations with European Union. The people need it more than politicians", - the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine briefed. Mr. Buzek assured his colleague that he would try his best "to make European Union as open for Ukraine as possible" and added that the European colleagues are looking forward the activation of the cooperation between Ukraine and EU especially on the line "The Verkhovna Rada European Parliament."

The next point for the discussion was the preparation for "Euro-2012" as according to the President of the European Parliament "it is an extremely important task for Ukraine to consolidation of the relations between Ukraine and EU." "We need investments and trust to our country to conduct the championship on the necessary level. It also depends on the stability in our country", - V. Lytvyn emphasized, mentioning that "the limit of unpredictability we have already exhausted."
